May 1, 2024, Treaty No.1 Territory, Winnipeg, MB – Downtown Winnipeg BIZ is thrilled to announce the return of its highly anticipated Chinatown & Dim Sum Tour for the 2024 season. Building on the tremendous success of previous years, this year’s tours promise an enriching experience that celebrates culture, cuisines, and community in of downtown Winnipeg.
Led by the local Dim Sum aficionado, Carter Chen, participants will embark on a two-hour walking tour through the heart of Winnipeg’s Chinatown. Attendees will experience the intricacies of dim sum etiquette and diving into the cultural insights of each dish and the neighbourhood’s unique architecture and landmarks.
“This tour isn’t just about tasting delicious food; it’s about being immersed in the rich history that is woven through Winnipeg’s vibrant Chinatown,” says Carter Chen. “Every dumpling, every tea pour, tells a story that connects us to the rich heritage of this neighbourhood and our city.”
This year’s Chinatown & Dim Sum Tour has been expanded into the fall season, spanning from May to October with one tour per month. In response to the high demand, this will provide more opportunities for locals and tourists alike to partake in this unique experience. Tickets for each tour will go on sale at 10 a.m. CDT on the first of every month.
