UPCOMING SUMMER EVENTS: FIND IT ALL DOWNTOWN

Downtown Winnipeg – From June to October, the Downtown BIZ will host over 230 events for downtown workers, visitors and tourists. Last year’s summer events and programming attracted over 50,000 visitors to the downtown—with people enjoying outdoor movie screenings, yoga, and Zumba at some of downtown’s most cherished green spaces, and noon-hour concerts. Popular Downtown BIZ attractions will also be returning for the 2016 summer season:

  • Fitness in the Park: Yoga, Zumba and Pilates, and new to this year, bootcamp in Memorial Park (Monday-Friday in June, July and August)
  • Downtown Farmers’ Market: Thursdays (June 2 – October 20)
  • Downtown Concert Series: Wednesdays in Air Canada Park (June & July)
  • cityplace Concert Series: Tuesdays on The Terrace (June, July & August)
  • CBC Music for Lunch: Thursdays on Edmonton St. (August)
  • Downtown Tours: The Breakfast Club, Moveable Feast, Patio Crawl, Tap In, Winnipeg Wine and Downtown Flashback tours (June – end of October)
  • Downtown Drive-in: Saturdays at the corner of Garry St. & Graham Ave. (August)
  • Movies on Memorial: Tuesdays in Memorial Park (August)
  • Canada Day Living Flag: July 1 in Shaw Park
  • Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Manyfest: September 9-11

In addition, Interstellar Rodeo, Winnipeg BBQ & Blues Festival, Manitoba Filipino Street Festival, and SpaceLand will take place this summer offering food, drinks, and entertainment to the downtown area with help from the Host It Downtown event funding program administered by Downtown BIZ. New this year, you’ll be able to geotag your summer social life with new Snapchat geofilters for Downtown Winnipeg, Downtown Farmers’ Market, Manyfest and #FindItDowntown.

“Our events add incredible value to the city and positioning downtown as the premier entertainment destination,” says Stefano Grande, Executive Director of the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ. “When people visit the downtown, they discover all the hidden gems it has to offer, and in turn, they help stimulate the economic and social well-being of our downtown community.”
