Just a couple of minutes from the Winnipeg Foundation Centennial River Walk, you’ll find a little piece of home. The Downtown Winnipeg BIZ, with the help of Festival du Voyageur, brings you something cool: local artists have carved snow sculptures around downtown that may look a little familiar – they’re snowfas!
Take a seat at one of the sofas made of snow (snowfas) and experience something familiar from a new perspective or give armchair travelling a new meaning by visiting them all.
Signs at each of the snowfas will tell you how many minutes (at a walking pace) you are to a unique downtown business to pick up a drink or a meal. You can order take-out and become a winter couch potato while you wait.
There’s Snow Place Like Home reminds you that you don’t have to look much further than your own backyard to find something cool. Grab a seat before they melt.
Please remember to keep one sofa length (2 metres or 6 feet) of space between you and others while visiting the outdoor seating spots.
Thank you to Councillor Sherri Rollins and the City of Winnipeg Wellness Grant for helping to make this happen.
