POPULAR OUTDOOR MOVIE SCREENINGS RETURNS WITH A CHANCE TO PICK YOUR FAVORITE FLICK: AUGUST 5-26

Downtown Winnipeg – Launched two summers ago to outstanding reviews, the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ’s popular movie screenings at Memorial Park returns, with screenings of cinema’s favourite underdogs. The Downtown BIZ invites the public to choose the 4th and final movie screening by voting online at www.downtownwinnipegbiz.com.

In case of rain, the film will be screened on the following Wednesday

August 5 – Forrest Gump

August 12 – Karate Kid

August 19 – Back to the Future

August 26 – Public vote between The Princess Bride or Toy Story

 

Movies at Memorial Park is brought to you by the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ. Since 2012, over 6,000 people have enjoyed movie screenings under the stars at one of the city’s most cherished green spaces.

“There is something special about doing indoor things outdoors,” says Stefano Grande, executive director of the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ. “You get a chance to breathe in the fresh air and experience downtown in a way you may not have done before. With this initiative, we’re giving people even more reasons to come check out their downtown in the evenings and weekends.”
