Happy Pride Month! This season, we’re proudly shining a spotlight on the amazing queer-owned and queer-friendly businesses and organizations that make downtown Winnipeg a welcoming, colourful, and inspiring place to be.

Boomerang 360 | #FindItDowntown at 166 Hargrave Street
Boomerang 360, a queer-owned retail store in downtown Winnipeg, is the creative brainchild of Kylie Stomp, a talented freelance and local graphic designer. Kylie’s designs are a vibrant blend of the prairies, nature, travel, and urban cycling, each one screen-printed with eco-friendly, water-based ink and heat set for lasting wear.
You’ll find everything from clothing and accessories to pillows crafted from recycled coffee sacks—all stylish and eco-friendly.

Capital Grill & Bar Broadway | #FindItDowntown at 275 Broadway #100
This cozy, queer-owned eatery has been serving comfort food with a twist since 2018. Chef Wayne Martin and Manager Greg Gunnarson craft hearty Canadian and North American dishes using fresh, local ingredients—including wild mushrooms from a friend of a friend’s local farm and seafood straight from the coasts. Talk about farm-to-table!
Pastas, burgers, steaks, and seafood—you name it, they’ve got it. Grab a seat inside their cozy, beautifully designed space or kick back on the patio and enjoy the fresh air—either way, you’re in for a great experience.

Oh Doughnuts | #FindItDowntown at 326 Broadway
Oh Doughnuts is a downtown favourite for a reason. This queer-owned neighbourhood doughnut shop offers handmade doughnuts in over 100 creative flavours, plus vegan and gluten-friendly options—all made with local and organic ingredients.
Every day, they make their donuts, fillings, and glazes in-house, ensuring freshness and quality. If you’re craving something a bit crispier, try their CrOHnuts! Buttery, flaky dough fried to perfection. Who can resist that?
After a recent renovation, the space is cozier than ever and now serves breakfast and lunch. Don’t miss the Everything Bagel Doughnut Casserole or the cheeky LGBT Doughnut Sandwich—they’re must-tries. It’s the kind of place where you come for the doughnuts and stay for the vibe.

Pride Winnipeg | #FindItDowntown at #211 – 254 Edmonton Street
Celebrate love and diversity with Pride Winnipeg, serving our city’s 2SLGBTQ+ (Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and/or Questioning) community for 35 years!
With dedicated volunteers, it brings to life festivities at the end of May and well into June, including the annual Pride Parade along Portage Avenue. Last year’s parade drew in 10,000 folks, with over 80,000 attendees painting downtown with love and colour over the whole duration of the festival.
Pride Winnipeg’s impact extends well beyond the summer celebrations. Their office on Edmonton Street serves as a year-round hub for the community—a space to connect, collaborate, and continue the mission of celebrating diversity and supporting all members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
