The Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra Presents…Trombone and Other Delights

The Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra is thrilled to showcase Audrey’s unique abilities as a trombonist and vocalist for the inaugural concert of their 2023-24 season. Her strongly thematic writing is showcased on tunes such as ‘Swamp Castles’, which is accentuated by arranger Chelsea McBride’s thoughtful and nuanced interpretation. Audrey’s vibrant playing and harmonic command is also showcased in her playful, and as-yet-unreleased tune ‘The Head of a Mouse’. We’ll also have some new arrangements of Audrey’s tunes such as the smooth and mysterious ‘Ms. Lastrassi’, from some of the WJO audience’s favorite arrangers! As if her dynamic trombone playing wasn’t enough, Audrey will join us on vocals for a few tunes including Bill Holman’s version of ‘Almost Like Being in Love’ as performed by Natalie Cole. Audrey’s multi-faceted skill as a composer, vocalist, trombonist and, of course, all round musician is not to be missed!
