We are incredibly delighted to announce the launch of this year’s edition of Plug In ICA’s Prairie Art Book Fair. This will be the third iteration of the bi-annual event. Over 15 vendors will gather for three days in our galleries to exhibit an array of printed matter and other published ephemera such as limited-edition catalogues, zines, posters, periodicals, etc. The vendors include an eclectic mix of independent artists, art collectives, artist-run organizations and publishers based across the prairies and beyond. Alongside the fair, we will conduct a string of associated programming activities including a karaoke night, writing workshops, and a panel discussion.

Prairie Art Book Fair was initially established as a way to bridge the relationship between contemporary art and publishing with a regional focus. Now it has evolved beyond the prairies to become an alternative way to display and share art practices that extend tangentially into various published artifacts.

The fair and associated events are FREE and open to all. Please join us to learn more about publishing in the Prairies, find a new favourite book, participate in events and mingle with local artists, writers and publishers.
