Visit WAG-Qaumajuq on National Indigenous Peoples Day for a day of Indigenous art education and evening concerts!

Start the day off with Hey Cuzzin, a concert at the Broadway Neighbourhood Centre (185 Young Street) from 9-11am. This event will feature live performances, community building activities, a Sacred Fire, delicious food and beverages, and more in partnership with local organizations including Bear Clan Patrol, Blue Thunderbird Family Care, Centre de Santé, Crisis & Trauma Resource Institute, Jessie Home Inc, Manitoba Moon Voices, Neecheewam Inc, Sākihiwē Festival, and Women’s Health Clinic.

At WAG-Qaumajuq, we’ll have some drop in tours — beginning at 2pm learn more about Truth and Reconciliation Through Art. In this program, visitors will explore the power of art and foster understanding and healing through a guided tour led by Indigenous voices.

At 6pm, a guided tour of Indigenous Storytelling Through Art will be offered as we walk visitors through the galleries and delve into the rich narratives and traditions woven into Indigenous art.

From 5-7:30pm, experience a live Drag Performance in the Muriel Richardson Auditorium! Check out the electrifying energy of live drag as performers light up the stage in celebration of Indigenous culture and expression. Remember to bring cash to tip the performers!

Lastly, we will finish the day with Grippin Sage, a rooftop concert featuring live performances from DJ Corvo (7:30pm), The Kaptain (8-9pm), Boogey the Beat (9-10pm), and Zuki (10-11pm). The event is family friendly and we’ll have specialty cocktails and mocktails!

All programming is included with the cost of admission, admission for Indigenous people is always FREE.
