On Thursday, October 18, 2018, the Vimy Foundation presents the First World War Centennial Speaker Series with Stephen Brunt and Bob Weeks.
One hundred years ago, Canadians were engaged in some of the most important battles of the First World War, as they pushed towards Mons and the Armistice. One hundred years later, we still recognize the Great War as a truly transformative experience for Canada.
Join us at this intimate event at the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame to learn more about Canada’s role in the First World War and to discuss sports and entertainment for Canadian soldiers one hundred years ago.
View the Sports Manitoba feature exhibit: Reflections of the Great War: Manitoban Athletes-In-Arms. In celebration of the 100 years’ anniversary of the end of the First World War, the exhibit features Manitoba’s athletes and sports teams, or the battalions to which they belonged, during the war.
Free to attend but registration is required. For more information click here.
