Visit Gallery 1C03 at the University of Winnipeg to see our current exhibit “Littoral Landscape” and take part in a free family activity!
For her exhibition “Littoral Landscape”, artist Tracy Peters creates sculptures and videos that consider relationships between organic and human-built environments along the southwestern shore of Lake Winnipeg. Her art evokes the emotive power of fragile ecosystems and urges us to consider our impact upon them.
Earth Day Family Activity: Painting messages to the land and water on stones
Families are invited to paint or draw on stones that recall the ones Peters uses in her art. Write a message to the land or the water, make a statement about protecting the environment, draw a scene from nature that inspires you! Once completed, take your stone home and place it outdoors or gift it to someone.
