Dim sum aficionado, Carter Chen, will teach you the customs of dim sum as you enjoy family-style dining plus he’ll take you on a guided tour of the area. On this tour, you’ll learn about the history of Chinatown in Winnipeg, enjoy great local dim sum restaurants, and develop a new appreciation for this beautiful, unique neighbourhood. Whether you’re brand new to dim sum or have been enjoying it for years, this tour is for you!

This walking tour includes stops at two dim sum restaurants: Sam Po Dim Sum Restaurant and Kum Koon Garden

About our tour guide, Carter Chen:

Carter was born and raised in Winnipeg. His father is Chinese and immigrated to Canada in 1979. Winnipeg’s Chinatown has been a huge part of Carter’s life and eating at dim sum restaurants is a big reason why. In addition to sharing his love for dim sum with you, Carter can’t wait to share his knowledge of the neighbourhood and its 130-year history.
