DOWNTOWN BIZ CLEANS UP CITY CORE ON EARTH DAY, SEEKS VOLUNTEERS

Winnipeg, MB–This Earth Day, April 22, people who love their city and the earth will be participating in the Earth Day Clean Up in downtown.

Armed with bags, gloves and a sense of pride, the public will help clean up the streets of downtown, making them shine on the most environmentally-friendly day of the year.

Organized by the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ, the downtown Earth Day Clean Up attracts hundreds of volunteers each year looking to do something special for earth.

The times and locations are as follows:
North Downtown – Main Street
Thunderbird House, 715 Main Street
9am Registration
11am Wind-up

Central & South Downtown
Air Canada Park, 355 Portage Avenue
2:00pm Registration
4:00pm Wind-up

Volunteers receive a free t-shirt, cleaning supplies, prizes, lunch and a feeling of accomplishment. Volunteers should register ahead of time with the Downtown BIZ at info@downtownwinnipegbiz.com or 958-4640.
