September 25, 2024, Treaty No.1 Territory, Winnipeg, MB – Downtown Winnipeg BIZ launched a new marketing campaign, Choose Downtown Winnipeg, to provide folks with a platform to share their positive downtown experiences and celebrate what makes downtown unique and special. This campaign will amplify and champion the voices of those choose to live, work, study or visit downtown Winnipeg.
“Downtown Winnipeg is more than just a place of business – it’s a vibrant, diverse and inclusive neighbourhood that we can all be proud of,” says Kate Fenske, CEO, Downtown Winnipeg BIZ.
“We know these are challenging times and our Choose Downtown Winnipeg campaign will shine a spotlight on the positive stories that often go untold. We’re creating space for a new kind of dialogue – one that celebrates what makes downtown Winnipeg an incredible place to live, work, study, and visit – and we are inviting everyone to join the conversation.”
“Downtown Winnipeg is the heart of our city, and its success is vital to the success of our entire community,” said Mayor Scott Gillingham. “By sharing stories about what makes downtown Winnipeg special, we’re promoting a stronger sense of pride and belonging in our downtown, helping to create a more vibrant and welcoming space for everyone.”
“This campaign gives people the chance to showcase the incredible community connections they’ve made here and the reasons that keep bringing them back”, says Amelia Laidlaw, Board Chair, Downtown Winnipeg BIZ. “We’re excited to see the stories unfold and the positive impact they’ll have on our community and city.”
The Choose Downtown Winnipeg campaign will run from September 25 – October 30. Folks are encouraged to share their story (in-person or online) for a chance to WIN $5,000!
