FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DOWNTOWN IS A TOUR DE FORCE
50 EXCITING TOURS, ONE NEW TOUR GUIDE, AND SPACE FOR UP TO 2,000 TOUR PARTICIPANTS
Downtown Winnipeg – This summer let the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ be your guide to downtown Winnipeg’s best restaurants, patios, bike routes and breakfast spots! Beginning in June and running until September, the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ will offer 50 walking or cycling tours to showcase the offerings of over 40 downtown restaurants, history, green space, architecture and hidden gems led by our newly hired tour guide, as well as customer service staff and volunteers. Launched in 2013, the number of tours offered will increase from 10 to 50 this year, inviting even more Winnipeggers to take in the downtown in the evenings.
“We know that some of our staple tours like Patio Crawl and A Movable Feast have become favourite summer activities for returning participants. We’ve seen these tours sell out in the past, so by hiring a tour guide and offering more instances of each tour, we hope to share the downtown tour experience with both more locals and visitors,” said Stefano Grande, Executive Director of the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ. “These tours help us show off the city in an authentic, intimate way. We get to meet the participants, create a lasting impression and actually show them what’s going on downtown, and encourage them to return again and again. And bring their friends!”
From cycling to wine tastings to an exploration of downtown’s river trail leading up to the site of The Forks – Winnipeggers will discover why downtown is such a unique and exciting place to visit with personalized tours hosted by the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ:
