Candidates Discuss Downtown Winnipeg

Candidates Discuss Downtown Winnipeg

Eight candidates vying for the position of Mayor of Winnipeg will take the stage tomorrow night at 6:30 PM to discuss topics in a format designed to keep the conversation moving.  Veteran moderator Richard Cloutier from CJOB will maneuver candidates through topic areas important to downtown Winnipeg and by extension all of Winnipeg.

All candidates were asked to complete a short survey and provide a video explaining their plans to continue the revitalization of downtown Winnipeg and those survey answers and videos are hosted on the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ website and will remain there for the duration of the election.

Topics of discussion will include Portage and Main as well as many others, and members of the public are encouraged to submit questions for discussion areas at the door as well as through social media that we will be monitoring all night.

We will also be shooting video of the event and produce a highlight of some of the answers to allow Winnipeggers to tap into those answers on demand to help them make an informed decision when they vote.

This forum is open to all who wish to attend, but seating is limited so we encourage you to arrive early.  Doors open at 5:30 PM and light snacks and drinks will be available.

There will be an opportunity for candidates to mingle with voters in advance of the formal portion of the evening before the debate, that is scheduled to last an-hour-and-a-half.
