Each blue loonie is good for one hour of on-street parking, as well as for full bus fare. Three lucky people will also receive a surprise gift certificate to a downtown restaurant with their free blue loonie.

BIZ staff, along with two loonie mascots, will hand out free blue loonies at the following locations:

J Sprats Deli 444 St. Mary Avenue
The Ground Floor Urban Diner 190 Smith Street (Place Louis Riel)
Samurai Japanese Restaurant 330 Portage Ave

The Bargain Shop 298 Portage Avenue
Value-Plus Guitars 266 Portage Avenue
L.A. Collection 325 Portage Avenue

“This is just a small token of our appreciation on behalf of the business community,” says Stefano Grande, Downtown BIZ executive director. “We want people to know about this useful program that helps people save on downtown parking and transportation.”

Blue Loonie Mondays run every Monday until the end of August when Downtown BIZ staff will hand out free blue loonies. Altogether, they will give away over 2,000 blue loonies this summer.
