Chinatown’s King Street will transform into a bustling hub of live music, cultural performances, authentic cuisine and dynamic street vendors this weekend to celebrate the 8th Annual Chinatown Street Festival!
Urban Wallpaper, an initiative led by the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ, was officially unwrapped to media, members of the business community, and the public today, as part of an ongoing strategy to change public perceptions related to the downtown. Press conference attendees were treated to a formal announcement and guided tour, demonstrating vacant windows, often considered visually undesirable and in need of maintenance, that were transformed with public art.
Courtesy of new funding through the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ’s Host It Downtown program, the 5th annual Manitoba Filipino Street Festival will move downtown, bringing a projected 8,000 people with them.
Downtown’s beloved addition to Winnipeg’s wealth of festivals, the 6th annual Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries ManyFest street party, will animate Broadway from September 9-11 with an energetic atmosphere of arts, entertainment, and delicious cuisine, to draw people into heart of the city.
