DOWNTOWN FLOWER BASKETS INSTALLED JUST IN TIME TO LIVEN UP PARADES AND PRIDE FESTIVAL
Downtown Winnipeg – This past weekend, Pride festival-goers and downtown dwellers were delighted to see 102 beautifully arranged flower baskets installed along Portage Avenue, one of Winnipeg’s most iconic thoroughfares.
The Downtown BIZ recognizes the importance of creating unique spaces in our downtown that engages office workers, students and tourists; and image and cleanliness remains a top priority in doing so. The flower baskets aim to enhance the streetscape and breathe new life and interest in our city centre, providing a warm welcome for those visiting our downtown.
“The Portage Avenue hanging flower baskets were designed this year to complement the changing flavour and spirit of our downtown,” said Stefano Grande, Downtown BIZ Executive Director. “These flower baskets help make our downtown a vibrant and exciting place to be, and works in tandem with events like Pride Festival in creating a dynamic and inviting urban core we’re proud of. We want people to feel welcome here at the heart of our city!”
Downtown BIZ thanks Shelmerdine Garden Centre for these unique flower baskets, which showcase a colourful array of plants, from yellow, to purple to silver to lime green.
