Victoria, Brandon, and Calgary have issued a friendly challenge to Winnipeg to see which city can attract more people to join together to form a “living flag” this Canada Day.
It’s a similar story heard around the province as farmers’ markets continue their growth into new communities: that the playing field has leveled with more and more vendors and producers thriving with the addition of local markets that attract thousands of new customers.
The first ever annual photographic festival in Winnipeg – Flash Photography Festival – will take place during the month of October, popping up in various restaurants, coffee shops, and stores throughout downtown Winnipeg.
50 people will rev up for a cycling and restaurant tour throughout downtown Winnipeg as part of Bike Week. Called A Moveable Feast, participants will dine at urban restaurants through an environmentally-friendly and energizing mode of transportation.
With the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) serving as the backdrop of this year’s Canada Day Living Flag event, the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ invites the public to once again participate in this annual photo-op.
