Winnipeg’s downtown sidewalks may look a lot cleaner thanks to a program that employs the city’s homeless population with beautification projects – like picking up litter or removing snow – along the streets and sidewalks of the inner city.
The work of over 100 of Winnipeg’s top graphic artists is on display at Portage Place from now until March 31.
Two local businessmen will be injecting some Las Vegas glam into the blossoming nightlife around the MTS Centre, with the opening next month of a new mega sports bar on Portage Avenue.
The Downtown BIZ held a December promotional contest for its Blue Loonie program. The first 10 Blue Loonie business participants to purchase 50 Blue Loonies between December 22 and December 31 were awarded 50 complimentary Blue Loonies on behalf of the Downtown BIZ.
